Tickets with Routes on AVE Trains
RENFE and AIR EUROPA
have reached an agreement to put a combined product on sale: TRAIN + PLANE with train routes to Madrid from a number of destinations on the Spanish mainland.

Then, at Madrid-Atocha railway station, Air Europa offers a free courtesy bus service to take passengers to Barajas airport (terminals 1 and 2) where they will then have to proceed to the check-in desks.


Tickets with AVE Routes Purchased at Travel Agencies

If you have purchased one of these tickets through a travel agency, whether a traditional one or online, you must take the following into account:

1. Train+Plane journeys will be dealt with in the same way as any other Air Europa ticket.

2. RENFE tickets are not personalised and include information that relates exclusively to the train route, without reference to the air route. 

3. The air route will be issued as ETKT (electronic ticket). If the AIR EUROPA plane ticket has not been issued it will not be possible to issue the train Ticket/Boarding Pass. Check with your travel agent.

4. Once the ETKT (electronic ticket) has been issued, clients need to print their RENFE Ticket/Boarding Pass from the Air Europa website between 7 days and up to 2 hours before departure of their flight from the following link:

5. In order to print the Ticket/Boarding Pass the client will need to introduce the following information:

  1. AMADEUS ticket number
  2. Departure date  
  3. Route
  4. AMADEUS locator

If you do not have any of the above details, your travel agent will be able to provide you with them.

6. Once the outbound Ticket/Boarding Pass has been issued, it will then be possible to print the return ticket, unless the ticket is for a stay of more than two months. In such cases it will only be possible to issue the outbound Ticket/Boarding Pass. The return ticket will have to be issued 7 days before departure of the return train route.

7. Upon arrival of your train at Atocha station, Air Europa personnel will be waiting to inform passengers and direct them to the courtesy transfer service that will take them to the airport.


Tickets with AVE Routes Purchased at Aireuropa.com

If you have purchased one of these tickets through the Air Europa website you must take the following into account:

1. Train+Plane journeys will be dealt with in the same way as any other Air Europa ticket.

2. RENFE tickets are not personalised and include information that relates exclusively to the train route, without reference to the air route. 

3. The RENFE Ticket/Boarding Pass has to be issued from the Air Europa website from the following link:

4. In order to print the Ticket/Boarding Pass the client will need to introduce the following information:

  1. AMADEUS ticket number
  2. Departure date 
  3. Route
  4. AMADEUS locator

All these details are provided in the email confirming your booking. However, if you do not have this email please call our Contact Centre. We will be delighted to provide you with the information.
